This release brings full Mac support for Apple silicon, WhatsApp sharing, expanded cloud storage options, and a range of improvements to the Mac experience, sharing workflows, and device compatibility.
Mac Support (Apple Silicon)
- Added full support for running LumaBooth natively on Mac computers with M1 and M2 chips, including DSLR and web camera capture
- Improved the app window size on Mac to fill the screen edge-to-edge for a better desktop experience
- Resolved a crash that could occur on M1/M2 Macs caused by motion sensor incompatibility
- Fixed a stretched live view that appeared when using certain portrait templates on Mac
- Fixed stretched effect thumbnails on Mac Mini
- Fixed misaligned settings labels on Mac Mini
- Improved printing support on M1/M2 Macs so connected printers are detected and used reliably without requiring a system print dialog each time
Sharing & Social
- Added WhatsApp sharing — guests can now receive their photos and videos via WhatsApp QR code
- Removed Twitter/X sharing, which was no longer functioning due to API authentication changes
- Fixed an issue where video emails were sent with a broken link when the video was larger than 7 MB
- Resolved an issue where the pending share count was not updating after shares completed while viewing the share details screen
- Improved the sharing status screen with an animated upload icon so it's easier to see when uploads are in progress
- Updated outbound share emails to remove outdated social sharing icons from a discontinued service
- Fixed an issue where the WhatsApp QR code was missing the country code for guests returning to an existing event
LumaShare Integration
- Fixed an issue where two iPhones running LumaBooth were not both visible in LumaShare
- Added support for triggering a test print from LumaShare to the printer configured in LumaBooth
Cloud & Uploads
- Migrated event asset storage from Amazon S3 to Backblaze for improved reliability and performance
- Added an option to upload original (unedited) photos to the cloud automatically
- Added an option to disable saving original videos locally, freeing up device storage — this is now off by default
- Resolved upload failures for users in Türkiye
Camera & Capture
- Fixed Boomerang preview and processing failures that some users were experiencing
- Added 1920×1080 resolution as an option for Boomerang and video capture
- Added support for capturing from Canon DSLRs via USB on compatible devices
- Improved video thumbnails to be generated from the middle of the clip rather than the first frame, giving a more representative preview
Device & Account
- Added a customizable device name field so your booth appears with a clear, recognizable name in fotoshare.co
- Improved device identification on iOS 16 and later, where the system no longer provides a unique device name
- Fixed a subscription watermark that incorrectly appeared for active subscribers after resolving a device limit issue
- Fixed SMS input on Mac so the physical keyboard can be used to enter phone numbers
- Extended country code support for SMS to allow codes longer than 3 digits (e.g., Trinidad)
