This release introduces Roaming Photographer Mode and Sony camera support, alongside a wide range of improvements to stability, subscription management, event handling, and video quality.
Roaming Photographer Mode
- Added Roaming Photographer Mode, allowing photographers to shoot freely using the camera shutter button or iOS volume button without touching the app between shots
- Sessions now advance automatically when a new photo is captured while on the sharing screen, keeping the workflow uninterrupted
- The "Before Photo 1" countdown can now be set to zero, allowing the first photo to be taken immediately
- When countdown is set to zero for subsequent photos, the session waits for a manual shutter or button trigger before capturing
- Live view is now correctly mirrored when using an external camera in standard mode, and automatically un-mirrored when Roaming Photographer Mode is enabled
- Improved compatibility for older cameras that do not support live view during tethered shooting — live view is now automatically disabled for those models
- Resolved an issue where the capture session could become stuck when Virtual Attendant and Photographer Mode were both enabled
- Resolved an issue where pressing the back button during a photographer mode session could inadvertently trigger additional captures
- Photographer Mode settings now correctly apply to Photo and GIF sessions; Video and Boomerang sessions are excluded as those settings are not fully supported for those session types
Sony Camera Support
- Added support for Sony cameras via the updated Cascable SDK, enabling tethered shooting for a wide range of Sony models
- Sony camera connections now complete the full live view startup flow upon connecting
- Resolved autofocus timing issues that could prevent certain Sony cameras (e.g., ZV-1) from capturing photos
- Video and Boomerang sessions with Sony cameras now show a clear error message, as those modes are not supported for Sony at this time
External Camera Improvements
- Updated the Cascable SDK to version 15 for improved iOS 18 compatibility and broader camera model support
- Resolved a crash that occurred on Mac when connecting an external camera with no memory card present
- Fixed a display issue where text from default camera settings appeared incorrectly in the External Camera settings screen
- A loading indicator is now shown while an external camera finishes its initial connection setup, preventing premature interaction
- Fixed an issue where the "Take Test Photo" button in Camera and Effects settings could be tapped multiple times before the camera responded, queuing unintended captures
- Resolved an issue where the connection error message was incorrectly shown to users not using an external camera
Video & Boomerang
- Added PAL format support for video and Boomerang sessions, reducing LED light flickering for users in PAL regions (25 fps)
- Resolved an issue where 360/Boomerang videos could begin with a dark or black frame when using Record on Motion with a zero countdown
Printing
- Added support for printing 2 copies per page when using a custom paper size
Sharing & SMS
- Upgraded SMS delivery to use the new fotoShare SMS API endpoint for improved reliability
- SMS sharing status now shows a "Details" link that navigates directly to the specific share status page
- Fixed a date sorting issue where files created in January appeared below files created in the previous December in the sharing status view
Subscription & Account
- Improved subscription validation flow to reduce incorrect "subscription not found" alerts when signing in
- The "Manage Subscription" button now links directly to the LumaBooth licenses page for faster access
- Fixed the "Renew LumaBooth Direct" button, which previously did not respond when tapped
- Added a Subscribe button for users in demo mode so the path to subscribing is clearly visible
- Improved subscription validation by sending the proper authorization token, resolving intermittent sign-in errors
- Subscription status is now re-validated when the app returns to the foreground
Event Management
- Fixed an issue where switching events after signing in would download the event but not apply it correctly
- Fixed an issue where the welcome screen preview did not update after switching events on first launch or after reinstall
- Fixed an issue where selecting an event in Saved Events required two taps before the preview fully updated
- Improved the notification shown when the current event is deleted from another device
Stability & Bug Fixes
- Resolved a crash that occurred when navigating to Sharing Status > Uploads after completing a session
- Resolved a crash that affected photo sessions on iPhone when built with Xcode 16 / iOS 18
- Resolved a crash in the app menu on macOS
- Resolved a crash that could occur during a photo session when a Green Screen background was in use
- Fixed an issue where a low-light warning could appear and delete a successfully captured photo in certain autofocus configurations
- Fixed an issue where a white screen could appear after the session countdown
- Fixed a permissions flow so that camera, microphone, network, and photo library access are requested only at the moment they are needed, rather than all at once on first launch
UI Fixes

- Fixed the trash icon not responding in iPad portrait mode within Video capture settings
